Handle the tooth by the CROWN only (not the root).
Rinse gently with water if dirty; do not scrub.
Attempt to place back in socket if possible.
If not, keep moist in a glass of MILK or saliva.

Rinse with mild salt water several times.
Apply a cold compress to the outside of the cheek.
